Greenwood built up around the train station through the seventies and eighties, and that generation of homes is exactly the age where switchboards start needing a proper look. A lot of what we do here comes down to switchboards that predate modern safety switches, and getting that sorted properly is usually worth more than people expect.
Electrical Services in Greenwood
Greenwood grew up quickly around the train station through the seventies and eighties, and a lot of the switchboards through here are the same generation as the houses, built to the standard of the day rather than what’s expected now. We do a steady run of safety switch and RCD upgrades in Greenwood for exactly that reason, along with the usual mix of lighting, powerpoints and ceiling fans. The jobs we see most often in Greenwood include:
From the Van in Greenwood
With established homes in Greenwood, the switchboard is often a good place to start when we’re looking at the electrical setup. Older boards may not have the same safety switch protection you’d expect in a newer home, so we can check what’s there, explain what it’s doing and let you know if anything actually needs upgrading.

How much does it cost to install a new powerpoint?
It depends on where you want it and what’s behind the wall, but for a straightforward job in an easy spot you’re generally looking at a single callout plus the install. We’ll always give you a clear price before we start.
Is it common for Greenwood switchboards to need an RCD upgrade?
Yes, a lot of the switchboards through Greenwood are the same age as the houses, so RCDs and modern safety switches weren’t standard when they went in. It’s one of the more common upgrades we do in this suburb.
